      Work at BSB

      BSB employs around 200 people in a variety of teaching and support roles.

      We expect a great deal from our highly qualified and committed teaching staff and, in return, ensure that they have a rewarding and comfortable life at BSB. Many of our expatriate staff have families and all enjoy an active social calendar. Whatever their interests, they are never short of stimulating activities in which to participate.

      Our talented support functions facilitate excellence across all aspects of the School. The Catering team serve up to 200 meals each day, whilst Facilities look after over 2 hectares of land and 12,000 square metres of buildings. From Accounts and Admissions, through to the Human Resources and Library, the support departments at BSB are specialist, diverse and crucial to the School's success, making up the bulk of our workforce.

      Teaching Vacancies
      Club Coordinator
      The British School of Bucharest is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Club Coordinator for Primary to join our successful team.
      We are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. We have been awarded BSO status via the Independent Schools Inspectorate and are also an accredited member of COBIS.
      Please take into consideration the following duties and expectations we would require from the Club Coordinator for Primary.
      • To supervise and assist a team of supervisory assistants in the After School Club, ensuring effective deployment of the assistants.
      • To liaise with the teachers regarding the students’ academic evolution and homework duties and ensure homework is completed according to school requirements etc.
      • To plan and prepare appropriate play - based activities, including the use of other external instructors
      • To liaise with teaching staff over the use of learning spaces and resources as appropriate
      • To interact positively with children to encourage them to engage in meaningful and constructive activities, and to deal with emergencies that may occur
      • To be aware of and work in accordance with the school’s child protection policies and procedures in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted during the course of duty.
      • Be responsible for children during outdoor activities and ensure that the necessary teacher to child ratio is maintained.
      • Deal with any poor behaviour promptly according to the school’s positive behaviour strategy and to ensure that the class teacher/Head of Year or Key Stage are informed in the appropriate manner and parents are informed on a timely basis.
      • Be aware of all school policies and procedures
      • To supervise snack time refreshments for the children.

      Experience: Some experience of being involved in play or activities, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity in, for example, schools, nurseries, holiday play centres or other equivalent play setting. To include planning, organising and supervising activities.

      Aptitudes:
      Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Patient, tolerant and friendly approach. Enhanced CRB (after appointment) and suitable references. Displays an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of child. Good communication skills. Tact and diplomacy skills. Conflict resolution abilities.

      As a developer, you design, construct and support our systems written in PHP/HTML/JavaScript.
      Your responsibilities can vary from simple maintenance to very complex tasks in one of our innovative (Research and Implementation) projects.

      The Software Development Team is responsible for all internally developed software, including, but not limited to, different web-based project. We want you to work on front-end applications, as well as on the integration of processes into the company’s existing systems. We seek a dynamic person who has solid programming skills and is eager to learn and grow in a fast paced development environment.

      Education, competencies and skills:
      Have a solid and up to date understanding of best practices, developments and trends in web and mobile.
      Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
      It is a plus: Proficiency in front-end technology such as AngularJS, online Portofolio, Gulp and npm, experience with the Atlassian Suite.
      Advanced level of English.
