      BSB employs around 200 people in a variety of teaching and support roles.

The Catering team serve up to 200 meals each day, whilst Facilities look after over 2 hectares of land and 12,000 square metres of buildings.       Teaching Assistant

      Violin Teacher
      VISITING MUSICAL INSTRUMENT TEACHER: VIOLIN (FREELANCE PART-TIME HOURS)

      The British School of Bucharest is seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our successful team from January 2019 or earlier if possible. We are looking for a freelance person who can commit to a small number of hours per week, with potential for future expansion.

      We offer a dynamic teaching and learning environment for over 500 students from more than 50 different countries. The school is well established and is situated in a stunning campus with well-resourced facilities.

      We are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. We have been awarded BSO status via the Independent Schools Inspectorate and are also an accredited member of COBIS.

      The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced musical instrument teacher, flexible and willing to adapt the teaching style to suit the needs of individual learners.

      Key attributes:
      • Ability to perform on the violin at a suitable level to teach
      • At least two years’ previous experience of teaching the violin
      • A Bachelor’s degree in Music with a first-level Pedagogy module
      • Good inter-personal skills, and ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English with people of different nationalities
      • Knowledge of a variety of didactic teaching materials/books/music suitable for pupils at different levels from beginner to intermediate. Knowledge of UK musical instrument examination systems will be an advantage
      • Available to teach at a regular weekday time during BSB school terms (see school website for term dates)
      • Additional ability to teach another instrument will be an advantage

      Non Teaching Vacancies
      British School of Bucharest is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

      SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      Major responsibilities:
       Ensure bookkeeping is in line with legislation (both statutory and IFRS principles)
       Maintain accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions.
       Ensure bookkeeping is in line with accounting rules (statutory and IFRS), fiscal legislation and other regulatory requirements;
       Coordinate and review the activity of subordinates;
       Provide assistance, coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operation of the accounting department;
       Conduct all necessary trainings to keep the team’s skills and knowledge up to date;
       Coordinate the monthly closing-up process;
       Perform monthly, quarterly and annual-end closing according to local and group procedures and deadlines;
       Prepare Tax Declarations
       Validate and sign these tax returns;
       Develop strategies to minimize corporate tax burden. Maintain professional relations with tax authorities, manage tax controls from the authorities;
       Prepare Statutory Financial Statements for Half year and Year-end;
       Coordinate support for and manage interim and year-end audits;
       Coordinate support for external and internal audits;
       Organise and coordinate periodic stock counts;
       Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the system of internal controls and improve internal policies and procedures;
       Other reporting to BNR, Institute of Statistics etc;
       Ensure compliance with changes and updates in the accounting and fiscal legislation;
       Inform the management and staff about relevant changes in legislation; Ensure share of knowledge, training;
       Maintain Accounting Policies manual up to date;
       Execute other assignments and jobs set by the hierarchical manager;
       Review and update local procedures whenever it is needed;
       Comply with the Code of Conduct and the ethics chart of the Group, internal procedures, internal regulations and norms of quality, environment, health and security;


      Skills and abilities
       University degree (Finance & Banking) or relevant professional experience;
       At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar position;
       Advanced English - mandatory;
       CECCAR or ACCA studies;
       Problem solving skills and analytical thinking;
       Time management skills;
