      Work at BSB

      BSB employs around 200 people in a variety of teaching and support roles.

      We expect a great deal from our highly qualified and committed teaching staff and, in return, ensure that they have a rewarding and comfortable life at BSB.       Our talented support functions facilitate excellence across all aspects of the School. The Catering team serve up to 200 meals each day, whilst Facilities look after over 2 hectares of land and 12,000 square metres of buildings. From Accounts and Admissions, through to the Human Resources and Library, the support departments at BSB are specialist, diverse and crucial to the School's success, making up the bulk of our workforce.

      Responsibilities
      1. To organise the CCA, ASA & summer school curriculum in consultation with the Executive team, SLT and appropriate members of staff.
      2. To attend meetings as necessary with other school administrators.
      3. To prepare the CCA, ASA and summer school calendar and schedule and to work with SLT, marketing and PR departments to consider long range planning and increase participation. This will involve preparing and dissemination of publicity and information concerning CCA, ASA and summer school course offerings.
      4. To assume responsibility for enrollment, attendance, registration and assignment of students in cooperation with SLT, Admissions and the office.
      5. To search for and acquire the services of talented teachers for courses taught, including the recruitment of teachers from current staff for extra duties and appropriate outside service providers.
      6. To establish and operate procedures for covering absence.
      7. To address questions and concerns from parents and students concerning CCAs, ASA and Summer School.
      8. To monitor, evaluate and review the quality of instruction for CCA, ASA and summer school courses including surveying the views of students and parents. An effective learning environment should be maintained in line with the expectations of the school and the ethos of BSB.
      9. To observe the performance of teachers/activity leaders and consult with them regarding their professional development.
      10. To report the progress achieved by students as appropriate in conjunction with Heads of School.
      11. To prepare and administer the CCA, ASA & summer school operating budget and to effectively manage the associated P&L.
      12. To prepare and submit an annual report summarizing the program and operating budget.
      13. To work alongside SLT to oversee the implementation and evaluation of School Trips and Expeditions.
      14. To promote high expectations for all staff and uphold a high standard of personal conduct.
      15. To keep informed of the latest related developments, research and practice.
      16. Other duties as assigned by the Board or Headmaster.

      Person Specifications
      • We are looking for a Director that is hard-working, reliable, committed, organised and flexible and who has the ability to work efficiently and professionally.
      • Excellent PR, communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills are essential, as is the ability to work calmly and effectively whilst under pressure.
      • Good IT skills, creativity and the ability to work with high levels of accuracy, even when busy or tired, are basic requirements of the post.
      • Ability and experience in managing effectively own P&L.
      • Very good recruitment skills.
      • Ability to create popular, fun and interesting programs that result in high levels of measures satisfaction both for students and parents.
      • Proven managerial skills are essential, as is the ability to lead large groups of students and staff positively, consistently, fairly and confidently, taking into account any individual needs as may be necessary.

      Qualifications
      University Degree is preferred (any discipline).
      Applicants with QTS (Primary or Secondary) and significant experience of a senior management or co-curricular role in an international school would be particularly welcomed.

      Experience
      Applicants will need proven managerial experience and extensive experience of working with children, teenagers and young adults in a professional setting and in a variety of contexts.
      Experience of working with international students is essential.
      Previous residential Summer School and After Schools Programs experience is preferred.
      Experience in relevant positions in a high quality independent and/or international schools would be advantageous.

      British School of Bucharest is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer in order to develop and enhance our automation processes, working closely with the Infrastructure team to considering best of breed infrastructure / cloud solutions to support a high throughput, low latency application infrastructure.
      The role also involves improving and maintaining our existing Applications infrastructure to ensure all our production systems are robust, stable and able to service a large number of clients.

      As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be working in a small team of DevOps Engineers and release engineers designing, building and monitoring our development/test/production environments and work closely with our R&D, product-development and analytics teams.
      You will ensure the continuous improvement of existing products and data-processes and build environments for new products and big data processes.
      Automate everything, including provisioning, monitoring, data processes, and continuous delivery elements. With your contribution, platforms are scalable and autonomous, releases go live without any downtime and platforms are secure.

      Requirements:
      - 3+ years of DevOps or System Engineer experience;
      - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent field;
      - Good Knowledge of shell scripting and/or dynamic languages (Bash, Python);
      - Automation & orchestration expertise with products such as Chef, Puppet, SaltStack or Ansible is a plus;

      This post is a real support function, ensuring tight control of new student enquiries and registrations and any administrative aspects as requested.
      Accurate and up to date files are key to this aim and so a methodical, focused and multi-tasking approach is essential.
      Accurate and timely entry of data concerning enquiries, applications and registrations is essential.
