At BSB students take an active role in community service projects and in a variety of fundraising activities. By helping others they develop their own social awareness and learn to take initiative in supporting the community.
We have an active Charities Committee, made up of senior students and staff, which coordinates a series of community commitments and annual events. Our school has active partnerships with many community organisations including:-
Many students commit to weekly community service at Don Orione or Fundatia Innocenti through our CCA after school programme. We also raise money and collect clothes, toys and food to support these local charities with a variety of activities throughout the year.
There are several whole school fundraising projects, including a recent drive to build a well with Water Aid and the annual awareness raising Jeans for Genes Day. Secondary students also often plan their own fundraising events sometimes as part of their qualification for the Duke of Edinburgh Award but often because they want to do more to support specific causes or charities.
