Online Learning Programme

At BSB, ensuring that our students’ learning and progress continues is our top priority during this difficult time. We are aware that online learning presents challenges, as a large number of our Primary students are still developing the skills required to be independent learners. We also know that our families have many obligations and support networks available to them.

Due to the current Coronavirus situation and its impact on daily life, the school’s governing board has decided to plan the reopening of the school and the restart of the learning process on campus, while still observing the decisions of the Romanian government. We will also be taking into account decisions and developments made by other European countries that are experiencing the lockdown ahead of Romania.

Therefore, on 11th April, the Headmaster of the British School of Bucharest announced that the school, with the support of its teaching staff, has decided to postpone part of the upcoming summer school holidays and keep the school open in order for the students to cover their full curriculum. We intend to teach our Term 3, face to face on campus if possible. We are also doing this to allow our parents to return to work when they are allowed to, and to begin supporting their businesses and assist in the rebooting of the Romanian economy.

This would entail an extension of the current ‘break’, without the restart of a full online learning programme. This will also mean a change to the calendar dates for the remainder of this academic year.

Before the Easter Holiday, the school experienced the online learning programme. Here are the actions that had been made during that period.
