Our aim at BSB is to provide clear guidance on subject choices and career options, as well as work experience, so that students can enter the world of work well equipped.
A programme of career talks and symposiums raises students' awareness of specific careers and the typical qualities that recruiting organisations look for. Speakers have included geophysicists, web designers, lawyers, medical consultants, explorers, journalists, investment bankers, university lecturers, advertising executives, dentists and engineers. Alongside our knowledgeable and experienced teachers, our students also benefit from external expertise via membership of the Independent Schools Careers Organisation (ISCO) as they consider their A-Level and higher education choices. All students receive individual consultations with an ISCO advisor during Year 12 and at other points if requested.
Students in Year 11 and the Sixth Form are also encouraged to carry out annual work experience, making a vital contribution to their university personal statements.
