1:1 Learning Support Teaching Assistant
From August 2021, The British School of Bucharest is looking for full-time Learning Support Teaching Assistants in our Primary Learning Support Department to provide 1:1 support for students between the ages of 3 and 8 years old with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The role involves supporting students within the mainstream classroom and on a one-to-one basis from 8:00 – 16:00, Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate will:
Be able to provide evidence that there are no obstacles to working with children (ie. Criminal History Report).
Demonstrate an interest in working with students with Special Educational Needs, both in a classroom setting, but also on a 1:1 basis.
Have a high level of English language proficiency.
Be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues to devise and implement an individualised programme for the student.
Be sympathetic to working in a multi-cultural and international educational community.
Have had some previous experience of working in an educational setting and with children with SEN.
Have an outstanding record of attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
Have excellent skills in behaviour management.
Be able to commit to the post for the full academic year and potentially, beyond.
